The Red Dragons are one of the Marine Corps’ forward-positioned tiltrotor squadrons in the Pacific, providing assault support, aerial delivery, and crisis response capability across the Indo-Pacific theater. The transition from the CH-46E Sea Knight to the Osprey gave VMM-268 dramatically increased speed, range, and payload — expanding the Red Dragons’ operational reach across the vast distances of the Pacific. The squadron has deployed in support of exercises and operations throughout INDOPACOM, maintaining the Marine Corps’ expeditionary presence in the world’s most strategically critical region.
