Dewey — named for the Admiral who said “You may fire when ready.”
USS Dewey (DDG-105) is an Arleigh Burke-class Flight IIA guided-missile destroyer of the United States Navy, commissioned on March 6, 2010. Named after Admiral of the Navy George Dewey, hero of the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War, DDG-105 carries forward a legacy of aggressive, decisive naval action. Armed with the Aegis Combat System, Tomahawk cruise missiles, Standard Missiles, and a 5-inch gun, Dewey is a multi-mission warship capable of anti-air warfare, anti-submarine warfare, strike warfare, and ballistic missile defense. Homeported in San Diego, California, DDG-105 has deployed to the Western Pacific, Indian Ocean, and Arabian Gulf as part of carrier strike groups and independent operations, conducting freedom of navigation operations and maintaining the rules-based international order. This vinyl sticker features the Dewey crest.
