Officially Licensed USMC VMA-542 Tigers Squadron Patch — Harrier Tigers with Attitude
The Tigers brought the AV-8B Harrier to the fight, and the fight came to them.
VMA-542 “Tigers” was a Marine Attack Squadron that flew the AV-8B Harrier II out of MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. The Tigers were one of the Marine Corps’ premier V/STOL attack squadrons, providing close air support, deep air support, and armed reconnaissance for Marine Air-Ground Task Forces. The squadron’s lineage dates back to World War II, and they have deployed extensively in support of operations around the globe. The AV-8B Harrier’s ability to operate from amphibious assault ships, forward operating bases, and austere expeditionary airfields gave the Marine Corps unmatched flexibility in putting ordnance on target when and where the ground commander needed it. VMA-542 was part of MAG-14 under the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, and their Tigers insignia has been worn proudly by generations of Marine aviators and maintainers. This officially licensed squadron patch carries the full weight of that heritage.
Perfect For: VMA-542 Tigers Marines and veterans, AV-8B Harrier community, MCAS Cherry Point squadrons, MAG-14 and 2nd MAW personnel, and anyone who respects the Harrier’s unique role in Marine Corps aviation.
