The Buzzards of MALS-24 provide the maintenance and logistics support that keeps MAG-24’s aircraft flying from the islands of Hawaii across the vast Pacific theater. This officially licensed patch represents the Marines who wrench, supply, and sustain the aircraft that project Marine air power in the Indo-Pacific.
Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24, the Buzzards, provides intermediate-level maintenance, supply support, and aviation logistics for Marine Aircraft Group 24 at MCB Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay. The squadron’s maintainers perform component repair on the avionics, hydraulics, powerplants, and airframes of the MV-22 Ospreys, attack helicopters, and heavy-lift platforms that serve the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing’s Pacific mission. MALS-24 ensures that every aircraft in the MAG is mission-ready for the demanding operational tempo of the Indo-Pacific theater.
