US Navy HS-85 Golden Gaters Sticker — Reserve Seahawk Guardians of the Bay
The Golden Gaters of HS-85 proved that Reserve helicopter crews could match any active-duty squadron in the fleet.
Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 85 (HS-85), the Golden Gaters, was a U.S. Navy Reserve helicopter squadron that operated the H-3 Sea King. Named after San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge, HS-85 maintained combat-ready anti-submarine warfare and search and rescue capabilities with citizen-sailor aircrew who balanced civilian careers with the demands of naval aviation. The Golden Gaters embodied the Total Force concept, deploying alongside active-duty squadrons when called upon and participating in fleet exercises to maintain tactical proficiency. Their Bay Area identity gave them one of the most distinctive names in the helicopter community.
Perfect For: HS-85 Golden Gaters veterans, Navy Reserve helicopter aircrew, H-3 Sea King enthusiasts, San Francisco-area naval aviators, and Reserve aviation collectors.
