The group’s squadrons operate the AH-1Z Viper, UH-1Y Venom, MV-22B Osprey, and CH-53E Super Stallion — the rotary-wing and tiltrotor backbone of Marine expeditionary operations. MAG-39’s squadrons have deployed to combat zones from Desert Storm through Afghanistan and Iraq, and maintain continuous forward presence through the Unit Deployment Program in the Western Pacific.
