Description

**Officially Licensed US Navy VF-191 Satan’s Kittens Sticker — Fighter Squadron Vinyl Sticker**

VF-191 Satan’s Kittens — the squadron where the Blue Angels traded their airshow paint for combat gray and went to war in Korea. That’s not a recruiting poster — that’s history.

VF-191 was established as VF-19 on August 15, 1943, redesignated VF-19A in November 1946, and finally became VF-191 on August 24, 1948, adopting the nickname “Satan’s Kittens.” The squadron fought in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. When the Korean War broke out in 1950, the Blue Angels flight demonstration team was folded into VF-191, with Blue Angels pilots LCDR Johnny Magda commanding and Navy ace Art Hawkins as executive officer. Flying F9F-2B Panthers from USS Princeton, VF-191 flew combat air patrols and ground attack sorties supporting Marines fighting from Chosin to Hungnam. During Vietnam, Satan’s Kittens flew multiple combat cruises in variants of the F-8 Crusader from carriers including USS Ticonderoga and USS Bon Homme Richard. VF-191 and sister squadron VF-194 were the last Navy fighter squadrons operating the F-8. After transitioning to the F-4 Phantom II in 1976, VF-191 completed one deployment before being disestablished on March 1, 1978.
