**Officially Licensed USMC VMGR-234 Rangers Squadron Sticker — Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron Reserve Vinyl Sticker**
The Rangers of VMGR-234 — reserve KC-130 crews who fly on six continents and land on ice runways in Antarctica. Not bad for weekend warriors.
VMGR-234, the “Rangers,” is a Marine Corps Reserve KC-130J aerial refueler transport squadron based at NAS JRB Fort Worth, Texas, under MAG-41 and 4th Marine Aircraft Wing. The squadron’s lineage traces to WWII when it flew combat as VMSB-234 with the legendary Cactus Air Force on Guadalcanal in 1943. In December 1986, VMGR-234 became the first Marine squadron to land on an ice runway at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Activated for Desert Storm in 1991, the squadron deployed to Iraq in 2003 for OIF where the Rangers averaged 25 combat sorties and 60 flight hours per day, logging 3,435 combat flight hours and 2,059 combat sorties. In 2021, VMGR-234 personnel evacuated 838 people and 102 tons of cargo during the Kabul airlift. Named VMGR Squadron of the Year multiple times, the Rangers prove that reserve doesn’t mean second string.
