Description
**Officially Licensed US Navy VF-32 Swordsmen Sticker — Fighter Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VF-32 Fighting Swordsmen — from splashing MiG-23s over Libya to becoming the first female pilot to score an air-to-air kill. The sword has never gotten dull.
VF-32 was established as VBF-3 on 1 February 1945, split from VF-3, the famed “Felix the Cat” squadron. Originally called the “Crazy Cats,” the squadron adopted the Swordsmen nickname after transitioning to the F-8 Crusader and adding a sword to their lion insignia. VF-32 transitioned to the F-14 Tomcat in 1974 and made the first Atlantic Fleet F-14 deployment in June 1975, earning the Joseph Clifton Award as the Navy’s top fighter squadron. On 4 January 1989, two VF-32 F-14As shot down two Libyan MiG-23 Floggers north of Tobruk — the Navy’s only air-to-air victories between Vietnam and the Gulf War. VF-32 was redesignated VFA-32 in 2005 after transitioning to the F/A-18F Super Hornet. During a 2023-2024 combat deployment aboard USS Eisenhower, VFA-32 flew over 3,000 combat hours and employed air-to-air missiles against Houthi drones in the Red Sea.
