Description
US Army 57th Air Ambulance Patch
The 57th Medical Company — from the shores of North Africa in WWII to the jungles of Vietnam.
The 57th Medical Company (Air Ambulance) was originally constituted as the 57th Malaria Control Unit and activated in 1941. Redesignated multiple times through World War II and Korea, the unit became an air ambulance company and deployed to Vietnam, where its Dust Off crews flew UH-1 Huey medevac missions under hostile conditions. This patch honors one of the Army’s longest-serving medical aviation units.
