Description
US Navy Helicopter Squadron HSL-48 Sticker — Vipers on the Prowl
HSL-48’s Vipers struck fast and silently from the flight decks of the Atlantic Fleet’s finest warships.
Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light 48 (HSL-48), the Vipers, was a U.S. Navy LAMPS Mk III squadron based at Naval Station Mayport, Florida. Flying the SH-60B Seahawk, the Vipers deployed detachments aboard Atlantic Fleet cruisers, destroyers, and frigates, conducting anti-submarine warfare, surveillance, and search and rescue operations. HSL-48 maintained one of the highest operational tempos in the helicopter community, with multiple detachments simultaneously deployed across the Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Middle East. The Vipers’ aggressive name matched their tactical reputation.
Perfect For: HSL-48 Vipers veterans, East Coast Seahawk pilots and aircrew, Mayport-based sailors, ASW professionals, and Navy helicopter historians.
The Vipers never let a contact escape.
