Description
Officially Licensed US Navy USS Emory S. Land AS-39 Sticker — Emory S. Land-Class Submarine Tender Vinyl Sticker
Emory S. Land — the floating shipyard that keeps submarines in the fight.
USS Emory S. Land (AS-39) is the lead ship of her class of submarine tenders in the United States Navy, commissioned on July 7, 1979. Named after Vice Admiral Emory Scott Land, who served as Chairman of the U.S. Maritime Commission during World War II and helped build the merchant fleet that sustained the Allied war effort, AS-39 provides vital maintenance, repair, and logistics support to submarine forces wherever they operate. As a floating drydock and repair facility, Emory S. Land can service nuclear-powered submarines at forward-deployed locations, keeping the submarine force operationally ready without returning to home port shipyards. The ship has deployed to Guam, Diego Garcia, the Mediterranean, and other strategic locations, extending the reach and endurance of the Navy’s submarine fleet.
Perfect For: USS Emory S. Land sailors and veterans, AS-39 crew members, submarine tender community, submarine support force personnel, and Navy ship sticker collectors.
