Marine Transport Squadron (VMR) Belle Chasse is the operational support airlift squadron of Marine Forces Reserve, based at NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, under MAG-49 and the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing. VMR Belle Chasse operates the UC-12W Huron and provides the “people and parts” mission — transporting personnel, VIPs, and critical cargo across combat theaters and stateside locations. While the fighter and attack squadrons get the glory, VMR is the unit that keeps the entire Reserve force connected, ensuring the right Marines and the right equipment get where they need to go. Operating out of one of the most unique joint reserve bases in the military, surrounded by Navy aggressor jets, Coast Guard helos, and Louisiana Air Guard fighters, VMR Belle Chasse quietly keeps the machine running.
