Official VMM-764 Moonlight Qual Patches — Qualified by Moonlight
The Moonlighters don’t just fly at night — they qualify by it.
VMM-764 “Moonlighters” is a United States Marine Corps Reserve tiltrotor squadron flying the MV-22B Osprey out of MCAS Miramar, California, under MAG-41 and the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing. In 2013, HMM-764 became the first Marine Corps Reserve squadron to transition to the MV-22B Osprey, making them pioneers in integrating advanced tiltrotor capability into the Reserve component. Originally activated in 1958 at NAS Los Alamitos, the Moonlighters have served across decades of Marine Corps aviation — including activation during Desert Storm and deployments in support of humanitarian operations throughout Latin America. These flightline qualification patches represent the milestones and proficiency levels earned by VMM-764 Marines on the flight line — from CDI to QAR — each one a mark of competence in keeping the Osprey mission-ready.
Perfect For: VMM-764 Moonlighters Marines and veterans, MV-22 Osprey maintainers and crew, MCAS Miramar squadrons, 4th MAW Reserve aviation personnel, flightline qual collectors, and anyone who earned their stripes by moonlight.
