HMM-261 “Raging Bulls” was commissioned on September 10, 1951, and became one of the Marine Corps’ most deployed medium helicopter squadrons. Flying the CH-46 Sea Knight, the Raging Bulls saw extensive service in Vietnam, where they conducted troop lifts, resupply missions, and medevac operations throughout I Corps. The squadron later deployed in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, provided humanitarian relief after Hurricane Andrew in 1992, and supported peacekeeping operations in Somalia and Haiti. HMM-261 continued to deploy with Marine Expeditionary Units aboard amphibious ships until transitioning to the MV-22B Osprey and redesignating as VMM-261. This sticker preserves the Raging Bulls’ classic HMM-era insignia.
