Description
**Officially Licensed US Navy VA-127 Cylons Sticker — Adversary Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VA-127 Cylons — the squadron that trained Argentine pilots to fly A-4 Skyhawks a decade before the Falklands War, then became one of the Navy’s most feared adversary units. If you trained against the Cylons, you came back a better pilot.
VA-127 was established on 15 June 1962 at NAS Lemoore, California, originally formed from VA-126 Detachment Alfa. Initially nicknamed the “Royal Blues,” the squadron provided all-weather jet instrument and transition training flying TF-9J Cougars, then TA-4F Skyhawks. In 1970, VA-127 became the only A-4 Replacement Air Wing squadron in the Navy. The squadron expanded its mission to include foreign military training in 1971, instructing Argentine Navy and Singapore Air Defense Command pilots — Argentine aviators who would later employ their Skyhawk skills with devastating effect in the 1982 Falklands War. In 1975, the CNO officially tasked VA-127 with air combat maneuvering adversary training, and in 1981 the squadron adopted its iconic “Cylons” nickname. Redesignated VFA-127 in March 1987, the squadron transitioned to F/A-18 Hornets as a dedicated fleet adversary unit. VFA-127 was disestablished on 23 March 1996.
