Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 30 (VRC-30), the “Providers,” is a U.S. Navy fleet logistics squadron that has conducted carrier onboard delivery (COD) operations across the Pacific Fleet for decades. Based at NAS North Island, San Diego, VRC-30 operated the venerable C-2A Greyhound — the twin-turboprop aircraft that ferried critical cargo, mail, passengers, and high-priority parts from shore to aircraft carriers at sea. The Providers have been the essential link between shore-based logistics and the carrier strike groups operating thousands of miles from port.
