Description
**Officially Licensed US Navy VA-34 Blue Blasters Sticker — Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VA-34 Blue Blasters — named for their blue tail markings and nuclear weapon delivery capability. From Leyte Gulf to Libya, the Blasters never missed a fight.
VA-34, the “Blue Blasters,” traces its lineage to VF-20 “Jokers,” established on October 15, 1943. Flying F6F Hellcats from USS Enterprise, VF-20 saw heavy combat in the Philippines, including the Battle of Leyte Gulf, producing 16-kill ace Lt(jg) Douglas Baker. The squadron adopted the Blue Blasters nickname in 1957, inspired by their blue tail colors and nuclear strike mission. Reestablished in 1970 as an A-6E Intruder squadron at NAS Oceana, VA-34 made history in March 1986 when its Intruders fired the first AGM-84 Harpoon missile in combat against a Libyan fast attack craft during Operation Prairie Fire. Weeks later, the Blue Blasters struck Benghazi during Operation El Dorado Canyon. Redesignated VFA-34 in 1996, the Blue Blasters now fly F/A-18E Super Hornets.
