Description

Official VMM-162 Golden Eagles PVC Patch — USMC Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron MV-22 Osprey Patch

Commissioned in 1951 and still flying. From the first ship-to-shore helicopter assault in history to the Osprey era — the Golden Eagles have done it all.

VMM-162 is one of the most storied squadrons in Marine Corps aviation. Originally activated as HMR-162, the “Golden Eagles” made amphibious warfare history during Operation Lex Baker I in 1952 — airlifting a combat-equipped company from the USS Rendova to Camp Pendleton in the first large-scale ship-to-shore helicopter movement ever attempted. Since then, the squadron has deployed to Vietnam, Beirut (providing critical support after the 1983 barracks bombing), Liberia (evacuating 2,600+ nationals during Operation Sharp Edge), Iraq, and Haiti — where their Ospreys became the first V-22s ever used for humanitarian relief after the 2010 earthquake. Now flying MV-22B Ospreys out of MCAS New River under MAG-26, VMM-162 continues to set the standard for tiltrotor operations.

• Official PVC Marine Corps squadron patch with raised 3D detail
• Weatherproof and UV-resistant — won’t fade or fray
• Hook & loop backing for instant attachment to flight gear and tactical equipment
• Easy-clean surface maintains sharp appearance
• Sized for standard Velcro panels

Perfect For:
VMM-162 Marines and alumni, MAG-26 and 2nd MAW personnel, MV-22 Osprey enthusiasts, Marine aviation collectors, and anyone connected to the Golden Eagles legacy. A premium USMC squadron gift.
