MWSS-274 provides the full spectrum of expeditionary airfield operations, engineer support, bulk fuel distribution, motor transport, communications, and ground defense for Marine aviation units under the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. The Ironmen have deployed to combat zones and humanitarian operations worldwide, establishing and sustaining the aviation operating bases that Marine air power depends on. The squadron’s reputation for toughness and reliability makes them one of the most respected ground support units in Marine aviation.
