Description
**Officially Licensed USMC HMLA-467 Sabers Squadron Sticker — Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
The newest HMLA stood up in 37 years — and the last one to fly combat in Afghanistan. The Sabers wrote their legacy fast and flew it hard.
HMLA-467, the “Sabers,” was activated on October 23, 2008, at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, under MAG-29 and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing — becoming the first Marine light attack helicopter squadron activated in 37 years. The Sabers reached full operational capability in just one year and deployed to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, in May 2014 for their first combat deployment, where they had the distinction of being the last HMLA to conduct close air support operations in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The squadron flew AH-1W SuperCobras and UH-1Y Venoms, executing day/night CAS, FAC(A), armed escort, and command and control missions.
