Description
US Navy VX-1 Pioneers Pin — Testing the Fleet’s Future
The Pioneers of VX-1 didn’t follow doctrine — they wrote it, one test flight at a time.
Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 1 (VX-1), the Pioneers, is a U.S. Navy operational test and evaluation squadron with a storied history of testing maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft. VX-1 has evaluated platforms from the P-3 Orion through the P-8A Poseidon, developing the tactics and validating the systems that fleet patrol squadrons depend on. Based at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland, VX-1’s test pilots and engineers push aircraft to their operational limits, identifying capabilities and limitations before new systems reach the fleet. This pin represents the quiet professionalism of the test and evaluation community.
Perfect For: VX-1 Pioneers alumni, test pilots and flight test engineers, P-3 Orion and P-8 Poseidon enthusiasts, Pax River personnel, and naval aviation test community collectors.
Pioneers test it first so the fleet flies it right.
