The Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course is the Marine Corps’ premier graduate-level tactical aviation course, producing the WTIs who serve as their squadron’s tactical experts and training officers. “Twice a Year” captures the relentless cycle of the course — as soon as one class graduates, MAWTS-1 begins preparing for the next. Each WTI course brings together Marine aviators, ground officers, and supporting arms coordinators for seven weeks of intensive instruction in combined-arms warfare, integrating every element of Marine aviation from fighters and attack helicopters to assault support and electronic warfare. This qual patch marks participation in this elite training evolution and celebrates the biannual tradition that has produced generations of Marine Corps tactical leaders.
