US Navy Helicopter Squadron HSL-40 Sticker — Airwolves on the Hunt
HSL-40 was the East Coast’s Seahawk factory — every HSL crew that deployed from Norfolk walked through their ready room first.
Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light 40 (HSL-40), known as the Airwolves, served as the U.S. Navy’s East Coast Fleet Replacement Squadron for the SH-60B Seahawk. Based at Naval Station Mayport, Florida, HSL-40 was responsible for training all newly designated helicopter pilots and aircrew in LAMPS Mk III tactics, systems, and procedures before they reported to operational fleet squadrons. The Airwolves’ training pipeline was the backbone of the Atlantic Fleet’s rotary-wing anti-submarine capability, producing generation after generation of combat-ready Seahawk crews.
Perfect For: HSL-40 graduates, Seahawk instructor pilots, LAMPS trainees, East Coast helicopter community members, and naval aviation training enthusiasts.
Where every East Coast Seahawk hunter earned their wings.
