Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 2 (HSC-2), the “Fleet Angels,” is the U.S. Navy’s East Coast Fleet Replacement Squadron for the MH-60S Knighthawk. Based at NAS Norfolk, Virginia, HSC-2 trains all East Coast MH-60S pilots, aircrewmen, and maintenance personnel before they report to operational HSC squadrons. The FRS Instructor patch identifies the experienced fleet aviators who return to HSC-2 to teach the next generation of Knighthawk pilots the skills they’ll need for combat support, vertical replenishment, search and rescue, and special warfare support.
