Official HMLA-367 Flightline Qual Patches — Scarface Approved, Skid Kid Earned
You don’t walk the Scarface flightline until you’ve earned your quals.
HMLA-367 “Scarface” is a Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron flying the AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom out of MCAS Camp Pendleton (formerly under MAG-39). The Scarface squadron is one of the most iconic units in Marine rotary-wing aviation, known for their aggressive close air support and the distinctive scarface insignia that’s been intimidating the enemy since Vietnam. Flightline qualification patches are a rite of passage in Marine aviation — they signify that a crew chief, ordnanceman, or maintainer has demonstrated the knowledge and proficiency to safely work around live aircraft on the flight deck. For skid kids — the affectionate term for Marines who work on the H-1 platform — earning your flightline quals means you’ve proven yourself worthy of walking among Vipers and Venoms. These qual patches come in different variants for different qualification levels.
Perfect For: HMLA-367 Scarface Marines and veterans, AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom crews, skid kids and flightline maintainers, MAG-39 personnel, and anyone who earned their stripes on the line.
