Marine Transport Squadron 352 (VMR-352) represents an earlier designation of what is now VMGR-352, the “Raiders.” Before the squadron took on the aerial refueling mission and was redesignated as a Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron (VMGR), VMR-352 served as a dedicated Marine transport squadron, providing tactical airlift of troops, cargo, and supplies for Marine Air-Ground Task Forces. This patch preserves the VMR-352 identity from the transport-only era of the squadron’s history.
Assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 11 (MAG-11) under the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing at MCAS Miramar, the Raiders’ lineage encompasses both the transport and aerial refueling missions that have defined Marine fixed-wing support aviation.
