Re-established in 2013, HSM-35 inherited the legacy of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light 35 (HSL-35), which served the fleet from 1973 to 1992. The Magicians provide maritime strike, anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, and ISR capabilities from the decks of littoral combat ships and surface combatants — extending the ship’s eyes and weapons far beyond the horizon.
