Description
Officially Licensed USMC VMF-224 Bengals Patch — Marine Fighter Squadron 224 WWII Embroidered Patch
The Bengals — VMF-224 at Guadalcanal alongside VMF-223.
VMF-224 “Bengals” arrived at Henderson Field on Guadalcanal alongside VMF-223, forming the fighter defense that held the airfield against Japanese air attacks. Major Robert E. Galer commanded VMF-224 and shot down 11 Japanese aircraft over Guadalcanal, earning the Medal of Honor. This WWII-era patch preserves the Bengals’ original fighter squadron identity from the most critical air campaign of the Pacific War.
Perfect For:
VMF-224 Bengals veterans and descendants, Robert Galer Medal of Honor historians, Guadalcanal air battle collectors, and USMC WWII fighter squadron patch collectors.
