MCRD Parris Island — USMC Embroidered Patch
Where Marines Are Made
MCRD Parris Island is where the transformation begins — where civilians become Marines through 13 weeks of the most demanding military training in the world. This officially licensed patch represents the Drill Instructors, staff, and recruits who have passed through the gates of Parris Island.
Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, located on a small island near Beaufort, South Carolina, has been making Marines since 1915. Every Marine recruited east of the Mississippi River begins their journey at Parris Island, enduring the legendary Crucible and earning the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor. The depot’s iconic yellow footprints, sand fleas, and swamp humidity are seared into the memory of every East Coast Marine.
