VT-7 “Eagles” is a Training Squadron flying the T-45C Goshawk out of NAS Meridian, Mississippi, as part of Training Air Wing One. The Eagles have been forging Naval Aviators since their establishment, training student pilots through the advanced strike flight curriculum — from instrument flying and formation work to air combat maneuvering, bombing, and the ultimate test: carrier qualifications. VT-7 has trained over 4,200 U.S. military aviators and more than 360 foreign military pilots from France, Italy, Kuwait, Spain, Thailand, Brazil, and Singapore. The squadron has earned an extraordinary twenty Chief of Naval Operations Aviation Safety Awards, a record that speaks to their commitment to training excellence while maintaining the highest safety standards. Every fleet squadron pilot who traps aboard a carrier for the first time carries the lessons the Eagles taught them.
