Description
Officially Licensed US Navy VAW-123 Screwtops Squadron Patch — Eyes Above the Carrier
The Screwtops of VAW-123 see everything from 25,000 feet — and they tell everyone what’s coming.
Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 123 (VAW-123), the Screwtops, operates the E-2 Hawkeye from NAS Norfolk, Virginia, providing airborne early warning, battle management, and command and control for the carrier air wing. The Screwtops deploy aboard Atlantic Fleet aircraft carriers, using the Hawkeye’s powerful radar to detect airborne and surface threats at extended ranges, manage the air battle, and coordinate the movements of every aircraft in the strike group. VAW-123’s mission is critical — without the Hawkeye’s surveillance and coordination, the air wing operates blind.
Perfect For: VAW-123 Screwtops aircrew, E-2 Hawkeye pilots and NFOs, carrier air wing AEW community members, Atlantic Fleet aviation personnel, and Navy squadron patch collectors.
