Description
Officially Licensed US Navy HSL-40 Airwolves Sticker
The Airwolves of Mayport — fleet defenders on the Atlantic coast.
Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light 40 (HSL-40) Airwolves was a U.S. Navy helicopter squadron based at Naval Station Mayport, Florida. As a fleet replacement squadron, HSL-40 was responsible for training SH-60B Seahawk pilots and aircrew before they deployed with carrier strike groups and surface combatant ships across the Atlantic Fleet. The Airwolves trained the aviators who would conduct anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, search and rescue, and maritime interdiction operations from the decks of Navy frigates, destroyers, and cruisers. The squadron was later redesignated as part of the HSM community with the transition to the MH-60R Seahawk. This officially licensed sticker honors the Airwolves’ legacy of training excellence.
