Officially Licensed US Navy VFA-32 Swordsmen Leather Patch — Deus et Patria
From Hellcats over Tokyo to Super Hornets over the Red Sea — the Swordsmen have been swinging steel since 1945.
VFA-32 “Fighting Swordsmen” is a United States Navy strike fighter squadron flying the F/A-18F Super Hornet out of NAS Oceana, Virginia, as part of Carrier Air Wing 3. Established in 1945 as VBF-3 flying F6F Hellcats, the squadron’s pilots were the first Navy carrier-based aviators to strike the Japanese homeland, earning a Presidential Unit Citation. The Swordsmen have flown Bearcats, Corsairs, Crusaders, Phantoms, and F-14 Tomcats — famously shooting down two Libyan MiG-23s in January 1989 and becoming the first operational squadron to attempt a six-missile AIM-54 Phoenix launch. After transitioning to the Super Hornet in 2005, VFA-32 continued their legacy of combat excellence through multiple deployments, including recent operations against Houthi forces in the Red Sea aboard USS Eisenhower. This leather patch brings their iconic heraldic lion and sword to life.
Perfect For: VFA-32 Swordsmen pilots and sailors, F/A-18F Super Hornet community, F-14 Tomcat alumni, CVW-3 personnel, NAS Oceana squadrons, and anyone who lives by “Deus et Patria” — God and Country.
