Training Squadron 31 (VT-31), the “Wise Owls,” is a United States Navy training squadron operating under the Chief of Naval Air Training (CNATRA) at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas. VT-31 is responsible for training student Naval Aviators in the intermediate and advanced phases of multi-engine and maritime patrol aircraft training, preparing them for assignment to fleet patrol, reconnaissance, and transport squadrons.

The Wise Owls’ mission is to produce highly skilled aviators who will go on to fly the Navy’s maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft, including the P-8A Poseidon, as well as multi-engine transport platforms. VT-31’s experienced instructor pilots guide students through a demanding syllabus that includes instrument flying, cross-country navigation, crew resource management, and multi-engine procedures.
