The squadron has operated a succession of legendary attack and fighter aircraft — from the A-7 Corsair II through the F/A-18 Hornet to the F/A-18E Super Hornet — always serving as the strike group’s leading edge, the first fist thrown in any fight.
The Fist of the Fleet lineage spans the evolution of carrier-based attack and strike fighter aviation. VA-25 flew the A-7 Corsair II in the light attack role before transitioning to the F/A-18 Hornet when the squadron was redesignated VFA-25.
