Operating the H-3 Sea King and its predecessors, HC-1 provided the Pacific Fleet with combat search and rescue, vertical replenishment, and special operations support for decades. The Fleet Angels name reflected their guardian role — always on station, ready to rescue downed aviators and deliver critical supplies. HC-1’s legacy as the Pacific Fleet’s original combat support helicopter squadron lives on in the HSC community.
