VMGRT-253 “Titans” was the Marine Corps’ Fleet Replacement Squadron for the KC-130 Hercules, responsible for training pilots, navigators, flight engineers, and loadmasters for fleet VMGR squadrons. Every Marine who flew or crewed the KC-130 passed through the Titans’ training syllabus before reporting to their fleet assignment. VMGRT-253 ensured a steady supply of qualified tanker and transport crews.
