Description

Officially Licensed HMM-561 Leather Patches — Pale Horse Heritage in Premium Hide

Because the last UH-34 squadron in the Fleet Marine Force deserves to be remembered in style.

HMM-561 was activated in January 1967 at Marine Corps Air Facility Santa Ana to provide refresher training to UH-34D Sea Horse pilots and crews heading to Vietnam. As the Marine Corps transitioned to the CH-46 Sea Knight, HMM-561 became the last operational UH-34D squadron in the Fleet Marine Force before being decommissioned in October 1969. The squadron was later reactivated as VMM-561 “Pale Horse” in 2010, flying the MV-22B Osprey out of MCAS Miramar before its eventual deactivation. This leather patch honors the original HMM-561 and the Marines who kept the venerable HUS flying when every other squadron had already moved on.

Perfect For: HMM-561 veterans, UH-34 Sea Horse enthusiasts, VMM-561 Pale Horse alumni, and anyone who respects a squadron that held the line with legacy iron.

The last of the 34s. The first in our hearts. Pale Horse forever.
