The 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (13th MEU) deploys with VMM-166 “Sea Elk” as its reinforced aviation combat element, and this patch represents the Maintenance Management Team (MMT) that keeps the composite squadron’s diverse fleet of aircraft mission-capable throughout the deployment. The MMT is the centralized maintenance organization that coordinates all aircraft maintenance, supply, and logistics for the reinforced squadron aboard the amphibious assault ship.
