HMH-464 “Condors” operates the CH-53E Super Stallion from MCAS New River, North Carolina, under MAG-29, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. The Condors provide heavy-lift helicopter support for II Marine Expeditionary Force, deploying aboard amphibious ships and to forward operating locations worldwide. HMH-464 has deployed extensively to Iraq and Afghanistan, providing the heavy-lift backbone for Marine operations in both theaters. The Condors are now transitioning to the CH-53K King Stallion, the Marine Corps’ next-generation heavy-lift helicopter that will dramatically increase payload capacity and range.
