MACS-7 operated the radars and air control systems that gave Marine commanders a complete picture of the airspace above the battlespace. This officially licensed patch represents the Marines who tracked every aircraft, directed every intercept, and managed the skies.

Marine Air Control Squadron 7 provided air surveillance, identification, intercept control, and airspace management as part of the Marine Air Command and Control System. Operating tactical radar systems, MACS-7 Marines detected, identified, and tracked aircraft and airborne threats, feeding critical air defense data into the Tactical Air Operations Center. The squadron’s radar operators and air control officers were essential to the air defense of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force, providing the early warning and intercept control that protected Marines on the ground.
