VT-27, the Boomers, is a training squadron based at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas, flying the T-6B Texan II as part of the Chief of Naval Air Training (CNATRA) primary flight training pipeline. The Boomers take Student Naval Aviators fresh from ground school and introduce them to the reality of military flying — contact maneuvers, formation, instruments, and the kind of airsickness that builds character. NAS Corpus Christi has been training Naval Aviators since World War II, and VT-27 carries that tradition forward every day over the skies of South Texas.
